Day Two Report - It's A Wrap

If there ever was a collaborative art form, it's filmmaking. We were blessed with such an amazing group of artists. I am simply over the moon. The next step is for Bridget Palardy to do the editing and for me to develop the website. Stay tuned.

Day One Report

I am glad to report that day one (of two) went extremely well - thanks to our amazing cast and crew. We shot the main scene in Evelyn's Parlor . Tonight we will shoot Elsie's Cocktail Party scene with all the party goers and Florence Leaming. Once that's wrapped, we will go back to Evelyn's Parlor.

It Has All Lead Up To This

The Sexes was originally published in the New Republic on July 13, 1927. Today we're starting to shoot the film version.
Wish us luck.

Note from a Friend

"I am so proud of you for getting this off the ground and think you are bold and passionate and visionary and we could all take a lesson from you."
- Barbara Rubin

I hope I can live up to this.

Hair and Makeup Tests

Our hair and makeup artist, the amazing Vesta Goodarz, experimented on us yesterday to recreate the 1920's look. She also took these pictures of us - me as Adam and Darlene Violette as Evelyn.

The Martini Quote

I love a martini – but two at the most.

Florence Leaming revealed

We are very proud to announce that Stephanie Szostak will be playing the role of Florence Leaming. The New York Times called her a combination of "Audrey Tautou's gamine beauty with the seething inner turbulence of Jeanne Moreau's Catherine in Jules and Jim."
Stephanie's film credits include the memorable Jacqueline Follet opposite Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada, as well as leading roles in both Satellite and the upcoming How To Seduce Difficult Women. She recently won the award for Best Actress at the Bend Film Festival for her role in Satellite.

Casting Session for Florence Leaming

We had a great audition session today and finished with some terrific options. It's going to be a very hard decision to make. We are very grateful to all the talented actresses who braved the monsoon today.

It's all coming together

The contract for the location is signed. What a relief. We also had our first meeting at the location with the director (Bridget Palardy), the director of photography (Sam Fleischner), the designer (Cooper Vasquez) and my co-star (Darlene Violette). Our number one supporter, tenor extraordinaire Gordon Gietz, was also in attendance.
